Episode 4 of Daredevil takes a step away from the courtroom. It dives deep into Matt Murdock’s struggle to resist becoming Daredevil again. This journey has been building since the start of the season. We’re finally seeing him edge closer to putting the suit back on. I couldn’t be more excited.

A Grim Opening and a Cut Scene That Had the Possibility to Be Cool

The episode starts off in the morgue with a somber scene—Hector’s remains are shown, and his niece arrives shortly after. Interestingly, a cut scene would have shown her amulet glowing when near his body, hinting at a supernatural connection. That moment didn’t make it into the final cut, but it adds an intriguing layer to think about.

Fisk and Vanessa: A Tense and Twisted Romance

Meanwhile, Fisk’s conversations with Vanessa continue to be fascinating. Their dynamic is tense, complicated, and oddly captivating. Every time they’re on screen together, it feels like something is simmering just beneath the surface.

A Prison Visit and a Skrull Joke?

Matt visits a client in prison who refuses to confess. And in a great MCU nod, the guy casually asks, “Could it have been a Skrull?” It’s funny and totally unexpected. He also throws some jabs at Matt about his blindness. This shows that the show isn’t afraid to blend dark themes with sharp humor.

Fisk Steals the Spotlight (Again)

One thing is clear: this show is just as much Fisk’s as it is Matt’s. The screen time feels evenly split, and it works. One standout moment? Fisk’s visible discomfort during a children’s performance—it’s so not his vibe. Later, at Latvian Heritage Day, we hear “We Built This City” again. It is the second time, and I have to ask… what’s up with that song? Why is it suddenly everywhere?

Matt and Frank: The Heart of the Episode

The emotional high point of the episode comes when Matt and Frank finally talk. The scene is raw, honest, and powerful. Frank has a way of cutting through Matt’s walls like no one else has since Karen left and Foggy died.

Their conversation might be the turning point that pushes Matt back into the suit and honestly, it’s about time. It’s a reminder that even the most broken people can still be the ones to help each other heal.

Where Has Frank Been Since Season 2?

I didn’t know much about Frank’s life after Daredevil Season 2. I did some digging, which included watching a few recap videos. Now, I’m full of questions. Was Frank snapped during Endgame? Has he been cleaning up the streets the whole time? Or is he just now returning to a city overrun with crime? And how did Matt even know where to find him?

The Suit Returns… Sort Of

In one of the season’s coolest scenes, Matt climbs up to a rooftop. He opens a hidden compartment filled with his Daredevil gear. Multiple cowls are on display, and I need answers. I recognized the original one and the She-Hulk version—but what about the others? I want the lore behind every suit.

Fisk’s Bloody Knuckles Explained

We finally get clarity on Fisk’s bloody hands. No, he didn’t kill Adam like Vanessa feared. Instead, he’s locked him up and feeds him extravagant meals—just out of reach. It’s psychological torture at its finest, and classic Fisk. Forgive and forget? Not his style.

Muse Is Nightmare Fuel

Let’s end on this: Muse is freaky. Like, actually disturbing. The man is using human blood in his art. That’s next-level creepy, and he might be one of the most unsettling villains the show has introduced so far.

Final Thoughts

This episode was packed with tension, emotion, and some great worldbuilding. Frank returns, and Matt slowly transforms. Fisk proves he’s still a monster beneath the suit and tie. Episode 4 sets the stage for some major moments to come.

And seriously… someone tell me what’s up with “We Built This City.”
